Book of the Month

Book of the month - Conversations on Love by Natasha Lunn - Scroll to the end for some other content suggestions

Launching our book of the month series, recommended readings and a few of our key takeaways.

As we enter the ‘month of romance’ it has got me thinking about the book conversations on love, what different forms of love there are and I loved this book for its perspectives and stories. There are so many different forms of love, friendship, parental, romantic and of course love of yourself. Natasha Lunn uses her personal experience intertwined with experts, therapists, doctors, philosophers and offers questions and possible ways of thinking, but she approaches the answers as suggestions not instruction. I found this book was a wonderful read to shift perspective and start to question some of my internalised assumptions on relationships of all types.

Re-reading the book this time, I came away with the concept that there is a flow to relationships and part of this is understanding yourself in relation to others. This feels like a read to come back to and that depending on where you are in life and how you feel at the time you will get a different take away, as life shifts we can view the text from a different perspective. So no matter if you are; single, dating, in a relationship, married, divorced or any other form of relationship, what you take away will differ, even open up appreciation for all the different forms of love in your life. Maybe even take the pressure off the month of February and see love in a much broader sense.

I would be interested in hearing what you make of this book, if you have already read it or once you have.

Happy reading!
